Romantic Date Ideas

FreshMalt is your guide for romantic date ideas, whether you are single, a dating couple or even a married couple. You’re always striving to come up with plans that impress that special someone and now you have a resource to help you along in the process.

Below is a list of a few romantic date ideas we came up with, but to get the full power of FreshMalt, search or browse for specific things to do and you’ll be set with a plan for your night in no time.

Right now, we only cover New York City, but in the future, we plan to bring our date ideas to other spots. If you would like FreshMalt to be in your city, tell us where you live.

  • Go on a picnic. Who doesn’t have wonderful memories of going on picnics? Easy, carefree, good conversation, lots of time and nowhere to go. Use your imagination on the menu, bring some wine and a blanket and your date will think you are overly creative and unbelievably romantic.
  • Grab drinks on the rooftop of a high rise building. Meeting up on a nice evening after work and don’t want to do dinner? Get some drinks while enjoying unbelievable views atop a skyscraper. Your date will be impressed and you’ll have plenty to talk about with respect to the magnificent scenery.
  • Check out a jazz club. Who doesn’t love music? Especially relaxing music in a cool atmosphere. Clubs generally have regular performances nightly, so grab a table, get some drinks, sit back and have an intimate conversation with your date.
  • Take a boat tour. Climb aboard the nearest touring vessel and enjoy the local scenery, history or architecture. Some excursions include a candlelight dinner or a full bar. Have cocktails or split a bottle of wine while taking in the sights.
  • Have a Japanese night in. Make (or order) sushi, indulge in some green tea ice cream and sake and rent a few Japanese movies. If you don’t know Japanese, you may want to make sure that your selections feature subtitles.
  • Take dance lessons. Even if you have two left feet, many studios offer one-time classes for the inexperienced. Maybe you’ll learn a thing or two, and then the next time the two of you find yourselves on a dance floor, you can impress the other couples.
