Marc Alter
Bio
I am an entrepreneur living in NYC and have founded several content-based websites and a non-profit. I love coming up with new ideas and exploring opportunities. My friends and family can never keep up with me, since I seem to think of something new every few hours. I wish there were 30 hours in a day and I’ve always been a big proponent of mid-afternoon naps (20-30 mins) to rejuvenate and be more productive.
A little background on me: I grew up on Long Island, went to the University of Pennsylvania and double majored and minored in econ, int’l relations and history, none of which I seem to ever use. After school, I did the finance thing for three years and wanted to accomplish more for myself, so I left and went off on my own.
For the last three years, I’ve been through a lot, to say the least. Over that time, I’ve launched several websites, met a lot of great people, taught myself HTML, CSS, WordPress and a little PHP, and gained a priceless education with respect to starting companies, anything Web-related and living efficiently.
A proud accomplishment of mine is that over the last 17 months, I’ve essentially lived in Manhattan (with a few short stints at home on Long Island) for a grand total of $1,100 in rent (many thanks to my friends and family!), staying in over 20 apartments during that time.
Other things to know: I have an unhealthy obsession with Australia after studying abroad there for a semester, I like to stay positive about most things and tend to make light of situations, and I love meeting new people.
