Today, we only cover New York City; however, we’re planning on expanding to other cities in the future. Let us know where you live and we’ll be sure to let you know when we come over to your part of the world.
- Go to a history museum. Love to learn about the civilizations of the past? Brush up on the history of your city, state, country or culture at a museum. Or find one with an even narrower focus, like a favorite hobby, person, location or pastime.
- Take an art class. Learn to paint or draw, or spend class time creating one-of-a-kind modern art. Local universities and art centers often offer beginner and intermediate classes for non-students, sometimes in the form of one-day workshops. Perhaps one of you has a hidden talent.
- Go to a baseball game. Even if you or your date isn’t into sports, the competitive spirit and outdoor setting can make for a good time. If you are baseball fans, you can cheer on your favorite team together or cheer against each other, but don’t get too passionate about it.
- Go to a dance club. After dinner, work off your calories by shaking it at a club. From hip-hop to salsa, dancing is both a good workout and a fun activity. The only drawback is that loud music doesn’t make room for too much talking, so get your conversations out of the way early.
- Shop at a flea market. Rifle through vintage everything and look for hidden treasures or diamonds in the rough at a local flea market. Many are open all day Saturday and Sunday, and feature art, clothing, housewares, music, furniture and more. You could find the best thing you never knew you didn’t have.
- Go to the zoo. Check out hundreds of species of animals, making sure to stop by the aquarium, dolphin show, savannah and various other habitats. Grab some animal-shaped chicken nuggets from the concession area, buy a hat with gazelle horns, and recoil at the sight of the tarantulas.
